The Santa Clara Valley has been my home for my entire adult life. I was a full-time single parent, raising my son, who is now
grown. Many years ago, I served as a Medic in the US Army, including combat duty in Vietnam (1971-72).
Our community is very important to me. I served on the Santa Clara County Planning Commission for over eight
years (Chair, 2001-2002), am a Past President (2005-2006) of the Rotary Club
of San José North, served 3 terms as President of the McLaughlin Corridor Neighborhood Association, and was a
Founding Board member of the Franklin-McKinley Education Foundation.
